Dhuandhar water fall and marble rock are the major tourist attractions in Jabalpur, located about 25 km from railway station. The word ‘Dhuandhar’ derives from ‘Dhuan’ ( means smoke) and ‘Dhara’ ( means flow), signifies the smoky environment generated from water droplets around the fall. The fall is formed by booming Narmada river on its way to the deep gorge of marble rock.
The panoramic view of the fall from cable car is really magnificent specially at the time of sunset. Best time to visit the place is around Sharad Purnima when Narmada Mahotsab is also celebrated. The view of marble rocks on boating from Bhedaghat at full moon night is a memory of life time. MPTourism Rest house is the closest and best accommodation with direct views of marble rock from the property. Overall it’s a must visit place in Jabalpur.
The falls are open to visitors from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.
